As I say and imply there - Humans and various other life forms are endangered, but the planet, itself, is not.
---
Moreover -
The planet isn't actually a woman or feminine (and the planet isn't a man, and it isn't masculine), of course.
Messages about 'mother nature' also are a problem. I'll begin to explain why -
Men can be and should be part of ecological activities (e.g. composting).
Messages about how women are closer to nature entail suggesting that women are less human -- as women are compared with animals and plants, if not rocks and other geological formations.
As these messages bind women to nature, traditional gender roles are reinforced and prolonged rather than changed.
Across the world, women have tended to be gardeners and farmers. Men could help with more of those vital agricultural activities -- and with domestic tasks that also involve food handling, as well as other links with nature.
In traditional gender arrangements, women also have been deemed subhuman -- in accord with the message that women are more 'natural' (sex objects, for instance); yet, this gendering is a set social constructions which can be re-made -- perhaps radically.
Messages about 'mother earth' are at odds with those progressive changes to gender arrangements.
---
I also think that environmentalism should be promoted with positive messages -- instead of just the more common guilt trips. But the "listen to your mother" statement is like disciplinary scolding; how many people will pay much attention to that sort of a message? I think people will tend to tune out messages like that.

Answer by S For me it would be too soon. Everyone is different though. Would you feel comfortable having sex with someone after only 2 dates? (Even 3 dates is a bit soon for me, but like I said, everyone is different)
